When we arrived on the scene, Jonathan used his scooter to work from location to location. It was his first day moving around without his boot. We could tell he was uncomfortable. It was hot. “I’ll do anything for her,” he said as he limped across the gravel pathway. The scorching sun beat on his brow. But, amidst all of the obstacles, he smiled at her. She was the love of his life, and he was excited to marry her. It didn’t matter how uncomfortable Jonathan was. He beamed at his beautiful bride-to-be.
We had to reschedule this session a few times due to an unfortunate series of events. First, there was a bad case of poison oak. While I am very confident in my photoshopping skills, we all knew it would be a more comfortable session if we postponed. Shortly after that, Jonathan broke his ankle and required surgery. That’s why he arrived with a boot and a scooter. It seemed like everything was working against them, but they were determined to enjoy their session together.
Some people light up the room as soon as they enter. Darbi and Jonathan were those people, even though we were outside! They were smiling and happy the entire time we were in the scorching sun. But it didn’t matter because they were too excited to get their pictures taken. We were honored to find out that we were the first professional photographers to work with Jonathan! To say we were elated is an understatement.
You are two of the sweetest people we’ve ever met. We hope these images fill you with joy and serve as a beautiful reminder of this short, lovely season in your marriage.
